Are you feeling lucky? Well, are you?

If so, please plan on coming to our Adults Only “Casino Night” at the pool this Saturday, August 27, beginning at 7:00 p.m.!  Now, I don’t want to give the wrong impression – we will not have professional card dealers dressed in tuxedos.  But we will have a few gaming tables set up and some other fun games and activities . . . It is guaranteed to be a fun event!

Come with a cooler of your favorite beverage and an appetizer to share.  PBRA will provide a heartier main dish for all. Additionally, we will have the grills fired up and you can cook to your heart’s delight!

Good times, good food, good music, good drink – sitting by the pool with your friends and neighbors!  What else could make the evening even better?

Also, feel free to bring guests!  Just remember the $5 guest fee.

Friends and Neighbors (not mutually exclusive),

For many of us, the “summer” is winding down with kids returning to school, camps coming to an end and vacations being completed. However, there are 48 days remaining in the Piedmont Bend swim season! And we still have plenty of time for many more fun events!!

The first of which is our “Movie by Moonlight” being held the evening of Saturday, August 13. Please see this PDF for all the exciting details!

Also, mark your calendars for Casino Night being held at the pool on Saturday, August 27. This is an adult’s only activity. More information to follow. . .

Lastly, Tennis Courts I & II were resurfaced last week. They look great and are playing even better. Stop by to check out this great improvement to our facilities.

Piedmont Bend Movie Night – Saturday, August 13 is a post from: Piedmont Bend

Happy Holiday Weekend!

In addition to the Freedom Party that will be held at the pool on Monday, there will be a parade through the neighborhood. The Annual Piedmont Bend Fourth of July Parade will be held Monday, July 4, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The parade route will officially begin at the ”UPPER” intersection of Kinridge Road and Kinridge Trail. This is the second stop sign on Kinridge Road coming in the neighborhood from East Piedmont. The parade will end at the pool with popsicles being served.

Decorate your bike, your stroller, your wagon, your walker, your wheelchair, your scooter (sorry, I manage retirement communities) and join us for a lively and liberty-filled stroll through the neighborhood!

Fourth of July Parade is a post from: Piedmont Bend

The annual Piedmont Bend Independence Day Party will be held Monday, July 4th. Please see the attached invitation for additional information. Or, should I say, please, please, please, see this invitation (PDF). If you are able to RSVP with a number in your party, that would be especially helpful for food planning purposes.

While that is certainly the most important news of note, a couple of additional bullet points for you all to be aware of…

• The Piedmont Bend Barracudas are off to a 3-1 start with one meet remaining. They will compete against East Cobb on Thursday, June 30, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Visit http://www.pbbst.com/volunteers/meet-5 for additional details about the upcoming meet. Come and show your support for our neighborhood team! Eat my bubbles!!!
• The pool will be closed for the Barracudas end-of-season party on Friday, July 1, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Thank you for your understanding as we celebrate the accomplishments of the team and the individual swimmers!
• Piedmont Bend owns, and therefore paid for, two canopies/tents that we use for special events. They were last used at the pool on June 11 and have “gone missing” since then. If you know the whereabouts of the canopies, please let me know as soon as possible.
• For our tennis-loving members, you all know that the courts are in need of repair and resurfacing. The Board has allocated funds for addressing this need and the work will be done on Courts One and Two the week of July 25, weather permitting. Courts One and Two will be closed that week. Please adjust your tennis schedules accordingly.

There will be a Memorial Day Cookout at the pool on Monday, May 30, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Piedmont Bend will provide the burgers, hot dogs, and all the condiments. Members and guests are asked to bring a dish to share and your beverages of choice.

It should be a beautiful day for lounging by and in the pool! We will have some fun games for guests of all ages! This event is open to all! No guest fees too!

I hope that you all had an enjoyable weekend! Many thanks to those of you who were able to join us for our Spring Clean-Up Day this past Saturday. Due to the holiday weekend, it seems that this was probably not the best time to schedule the clean-up day!

So, if you were unable to help at the pool and tennis facilities this past weekend, you have not completely missed the opportunity. We will have a SECOND CLEAN-UP DAY this Saturday, April 30, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Based on the amount of work still to be done, I am sure some of us will be there throughout the day so come as you are able. The Board of Directors is working hard in a variety of ways to improve the appearance and overall use of the Piedmont Bend recreational facilities and I hope that you can assist in these efforts!

Also, the Piedmont Bend Barracudas will be hosting a Parents Meeting this Sunday, May 1, at 2:00 p.m. at the Pool. Open registration and swimsuit fitting will occur that afternoon until 5:00 p.m.

Remember that the pool will officially open on Saturday, May 7 (we may have an adult’s only get together the prior evening – more details to follow). Be sure to get your Membership dues in soon so you can take full advantage of the improved facilities! The Membership Application can be found here.
